Membership in organizations contributes to the overall
professional growth of any administrator. Professional
memberships in organizations such as the American Association of School
Administrators (AASA) are directly related to and support the jobs that
administrators perform. Monthly publications and daily e-mails
keep administrators aware of the latest issues in education that
contribute to professional development. There are also leadership
conferences and opportunities for growth that will help admiinistrators
more effective in their work and abilities.
In addition, my involvement in the Honor Society of Phi
Kappa Phi has contributed a great deal to my support of educational
excellence. Phi Kappa Phi also provides scholarships and
educational opportunity for many students who are members and support
of these organizations is crucial for professionals in the field of
education. As administrators, we strive for academic excellence
in our schools and in addition we should support organizations with the
same philosophy.
Both of these experiences are reflected in this paper
and how they have benefited me in my professional growth as an
educator and future administrator.
