Type in the Artifact Name here: Financing School Sports Powerpoint

This powerpoint was made in conjunction with the Pay to Play paper that was written as an assignment to examine an issue of school finance in regards to public schools and the need to raise additional money to help fund school sports.  Many schools around the nation are beginning to require students to pay a fee to play sports at the school that help to compensate for coaching salaries, purchasing of equipment, and maintaining facilities.  With a lack of school funding occurring in many districts the concept of paying to play is almost necessary to save money in other areas from being cut.  Many do not favor the idea because it is unfair to poor students and can impact them participating in sports.  However, some schools offer scholarship programs for those who may not be able to afford it.  Even though it is legal, it is often viewed upon negatively by the public.  The powerpoint presents the pros to the cons of the Pay to Play program using research from various sources and also demonstrates my ability to use technology.
